Package Sent by Worldwide Courier

A package sent from a small farm in Dorset, UK, will go on an amazing journey when the sender enlists the help of a company offering international courier services to get it to its destination at a farm in Australia.

The farmer will call up the package courier and book in the parcel. He will then deliver it to the courier company depot if it is nearby or arrange for a company representative to collect it from his farm. The package then starts its very long journey.

The package will then be stored at a local hub until it can be delivered to an airport in London to be packed onto a freight plane to Australia. Planes are the quickest way of moving parcels quickly over large distances.

The plane arrives in Perth, Australia, and the freight is unloaded and stored in a local depot until an internal flight to Melbourne is ready. Already, thousands of miles have been covered, but there are still hundreds more to go.

On arrival in Melbourne, the package is again unloaded and sent to another local hub to await collection by van to take it to the outlying town and on to the final destination farm at the end of a long and dusty track.

Although this package delivery is fictitious, it could easily represent a journey a parcel could make by Worldwide courier. Covering thousands of miles is now possible in a very short time, and packages are sent all over the world regularly in a way we almost take for granted now. Worldwide or international courier services are a vital component of today's modern world, so next time you send something by courier, take a minute to think of the amazing journey your parcel may make before reaching its final destination.
