Tips Traveling Abroad
Stash the Cash and Lose the Jewelry. Don't be a target. It is one thing to show off to your your new diamond necklace and earrings or gold watch at your local gala events but when you are traveling "Bling Bling" makes you the perfect 'mark' for criminals. Think of your jewelry as a lighthouse or beacon that sends a signal directly to criminal. Try and blend in as much as you can within reason and leave the 'good stuff' back home to keep it and you safe. Another important factor to keep safe is to keep your cash in the bank and use your debit/credit card whenever possible. Money as you know can make people do crazy things and when criminals get their eyes on your 'wad' of cash watch out. Carrying minimal amounts of cash for tipping and incidentals is essential for keeping you safe. Make a copy of your passport and if need be your VISA requirements and give a it to a loved one or someone you trust who is not be going on the trip. If something happens where it gets lost or stolen, the information can be sent to the local embassy with one phone call. Remember some countries require Tourist Visa's even if you are going to another country for just a day.

Check Immunization Requirements. You want to make sure that you are finding out what kind of shots you, and your family need before you go on your trip. Some countries require you start your shots weeks or even months before you travel to that country.

Medications. Be sure to take any over the counter medications with you because there's no guarantee that you'll be able to get them abroad. And if you are taking prescription medicine, take double the amount that you will need for the trip with you, and take one with you in your carry on luggage. This way you are covered if your bags get lost.
